Ekal and the art of


The Jacksonville chapter of EKAL Vidyalaya Foundation of USA in association with Florida Cricket Association (FCA) organized the Jacksonville EKAL Charity Cricket Tournament to raise funds for the local chapter of Ekal Vidyalaya. 

Eleven member clubs of FCA with players from all over the subcontinent participated in the tournament. More than 130 players and their family members participated in the cricket excitement. In the process, they not only contributed towards the Ekal movement but also received the satisfaction of having contributed something significant for their homeland.

 

West Bengal Police Awards Certificate of Service to Ekal Vidyalaya (26th June 2006)


A strong team from Ekal movement, comprising students, teachers and other karyakartas along with Gram Samiti members participated in the procession organized by the Police Department (Malda district, West Bengal) on occasion of 'International anti-drug Day 2006'.  

The Police Superintendent of Malda,Shri Dilip Kumar Mondal appreciated the 250 Karyakartas of Ekal Vidyalaya who took part in the procession and awarded them with Certificates of honor.

 

The Chhattisgarh Vanyatra (6th November 2006)


A huge vanyatra comprising Smt Veena Singh (wife of Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh) and her family, prominent industrialists along with families, 42 students from the Raipur Engineering College visited the tribal villages of Chhattisgarh. 

The vanyatris were most impressed by Ekal working and activities, and overwhelmed by the interaction with their tribal brethren and Ekal karyakartas. Smt Veena Singh honored the Acharyas by presenting them with shawls, umbrellas and mufflers. Ekal Vidyalaya students were privileged to receive gifts of school bags by the first lady of the state.

 

Ekal ambassador - Hema Malini at Raipur meet (7th November 2006)


A glittering donor meet was held at Hotel Babylon in Raipur, with Smt Hema Malini as the guest speaker. In her capacity as Ekal Ambassador, Smt Malini exhorted the elite gathering to participate in the progress of their tribal brethren, and inspired them to contribute to the Ekal Movement in different forms.

 

National Core Group Meet (27th October 2006)


Attended by 34 of 38 members, and 5 partner organizations, the National Core Group Meet held at Hotel Ashoka was an especially constructive and fruitful one. Many important topics were discussed and significant conclusions derived at the meeting presided over by Shri Subhash Chandra.

 

Ekal visit to Harai, Madhya Pradesh


Keeping alive the unique and bonding tradition of Ekal visits alive, Smt Rekha Singh (one of our donors from the USA) visited two Ekal Vidyalayas on July 25th 2006, located at Baagi Tola village and Madai village (Harai area of Madhya Pradesh). Her interaction with the students and Acharyas is captured in the following photographs -

Ekal participation in Mumbai Marathon


The forthcoming MUMBAI MARATHON is scheduled for Sunday 21st January 2007.

You will all agree that there are many amongst us who have the desire and energy to participate in this run. We will run for the Ekal movement, we will run to increase awareness about our tribal brethren, we will run for our literacy programs - "we thought this would be a great way to show our strength to those who haven't heard about us and show to the world the strength of Ekal Movement".

Great Teachers Lecture in Washington D.C.


This Great Teachers Lecture is organized by Ekal Vidyalaya of Washington D.C. on Sunday, December 10 2006. The guest speaker is Ms. Immaculee Ilibagiza, international speaker and passionate supporter of human rights and a survivor of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. Ekal updates - Arogya


Dr Sarita Mittal (Prasikshan Prabhari), Dr P K Sharma and Mrs Kamla Sharma (Members Experts Council) were present at the inauguration. 

33 sanch supervisors from Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa are participating in the first training session at the NATC. They will be trained in-house on Midwifery (labor room of Murlidhar Kripa Hospital) along with other subjects in the Arogya Yojna schedule. 

Dr Sarita Mittal trained the participants for the initial ten days, followed by a week’s training on Acupressure by Dr Vipin Shah.

Dr Veena Jaju (President Ex. Body AFI) visited the program and encouraged the participants through her inspiring interaction with them.

The success of the session is ensured through the diligent and persevering efforts of Shri Navneet Karma (I/C of the center), Sri Manoj Sharma (Manager Murlidhar Kripa Hospital), Miss Priyanka Dihingiya (Sah Yojna Pramukh) and Miss Lalita Rathore.
